1.What it can do
- Answer questions about your transactions and spending patterns
- Explain personal finance concepts in plain language
- Help you spot recurring charges and unusual spending
- Suggest ways to think about your savings goals
2.What it won’t do
We’ve intentionally built Ask FinNudge to refuse certain types of questions. It will not:
- Recommend specific stocks, cryptocurrencies, or investments
- Give tax advice or help you file taxes
- Tell you whether to take a loan or what terms are fair
- Recommend insurance products
- Make assumptions about your health based on your medical spending
For these decisions, please consult a licensed professional.
3.How we protect you
- We use Anthropic Claude as our AI provider
- Every response is filtered through safety patterns before it reaches you
- Your questions and our answers are stored for 30 days, then automatically deleted
- You can delete your AI conversation history at any time from Settings → Account → AI Data
- Only you can see your own chat history; we do not share it with anyone except as required by law
- You can flag any response that seems wrong or harmful using the Report link
4.We never train AI on your data
Your financial data and your conversations with Ask FinNudge are never used to train public AI models, ours or anyone else’s. Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from using your inputs for training. See our Privacy Policy for the full disclosure on data processing, retention, and your rights.
5.Turning AI off
You can turn off AI processing entirely from Settings → General → AI & Privacy. When turned off, your financial context will not be sent to any external AI provider. The app keeps working using its rule-based features.
6.Information may be wrong
AI can make mistakes. Always verify important information before acting on it. We provide educational information, not advice.
