Household

A Household lets you and your partner share one money picture without merging your accounts. You choose exactly what each account reveals, set how you split shared spending, and review the month together. It is visibility only: FinNudge never moves money.

How it works

You stay in control of every account. Nothing is shared until you say so, and you pick the level per account, from a headline balance all the way to full transaction detail. Your partner sees only what you share; you see only what they share.

Creating a Household and inviting your partner

Open Household and create one, then invite your partner by email or with an invite link. When they accept, you both land in the same shared space.

Choosing what each account reveals

In Account visibility, set a level for each of your accounts:

  • Private: hidden from your partner entirely.
  • Balance: they see the balance only.
  • Summary: balance plus monthly totals, no line items.
  • Transactions: individual transactions on that account.
  • Full: everything on that account.

You can change any of these at any time.

Contribution split

Set each person's share of shared spending as a ratio (for example 60 / 40). This is a split ratio, not income sharing, and it drives the monthly "who owes what" view. It never moves money.

Monthly review

The Monthly review shows shared spending for the month across shared accounts and what each person's share works out to, based on your contribution split. Like everything in Household, it reflects only the accounts each person chose to share.

Members and family

Manage who is in your Household from the Members area. Household also includes optional family tools: an adult account holder can record a child's allowance, spending limits, and chores. That information is entered by, and stored under, the parent or guardian's account. See Privacy for how family data is handled.

Privacy and money

Sharing controls visibility only. You can leave a Household or revoke your partner's access at any time from Settings, and FinNudge never transfers funds between members. See our Privacy Policy and Terms for details.
